Focus on Sustainability

The University of Wisconsin-Extension Sustainability Team has helped organize a webinar series entitled "Focus on Sustainability." The first of nine monthly sessions is scheduled for October 21, 2008. They are pleased to announce that Kelly Hawke Baxter of TNS Canada is the presenter for the first session, which is entitled "Setting the Stage: Sustainability and Sustainable Community Development." Attached is a flyer that describes all nine webinar sessions and includes registration information.

Other familiar names/people are scheduled for some of the sessions: Bob Willard will handle the February session on sustainable business and Mary Rehwald is set for the June session on community organizing. Familiar Wisconsin names include Sherrie Gruder, who is taking the lead on the energy efficiency and renewable energy sessions in November and December and Anna Haines, who will handle the January session on sustainability and planning.

The approach to participation that works well here is to have one person or office register and then invite a group of interested people to sit in on the session. They can then follow up with a discussion after the session is over. All sessions are on Tuesdays, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Central Time.
