Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) announced the finalists of its 2011 CEW Beauty Awards, which celebrates the organization's 17th year of honoring some of the industry’s most innovative beauty products. The finalists are voted on by more than 4,000 professionals in the field, and now the CEW’s board of governors will vote on the 139 finalists to determine the winners across 26 categories. Winners will be announced at the CEW Beauty Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 20, at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.
Additionally, this also marks the first year for the CEW Eco Beauty Award. Sponsored by Givaudan, the new award is a response to the growing importance to consumers of products’ environmental impact on the planet. It was created to recognize products that have specifically moved toward a goal of sustainability, and for 2011, 10 finalists from more than 40 entrants, were vetted by The Natural Step organization. A special voting committee will vote for this winner, which will also be announced at the luncheon.
